Travel and Venue

The 19th European Conference on Organised Films (ECOF 19) will take place from 14 to 18 June 2026 in Lecce, in the heart of Salento, one of the most fascinating destinations in Southern Italy. Known as the “Florence of the South,” Lecce will provide participants with a unique setting where history, culture, and innovation come together. The conference venue will be easily accessible and fully equipped to ensure a professional and welcoming experience, enriched by the charm of local tradition.

About Lecce

Lecce is renowned worldwide for its extraordinary Baroque architecture, the charming alleys of its historic center, and the palaces built with the local “pietra leccese” stone, which takes on golden hues at sunset. Strolling through its squares, such as Piazza Duomo and Piazza Sant’Oronzo, means immersing yourself in a city that preserves more than two thousand years of history, with Roman amphitheaters, monumental churches, and artisan workshops.

About Salento, Puglia

Salento, a land of sea and tradition, combines the natural beauty of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts with a rich cultural and culinary heritage. From the Caribbean-like beaches of Porto Cesareo and Otranto to historic towns such as Gallipoli, every corner of Salento tells a story of hospitality and authenticity. Puglia, of which Salento is the southernmost part, is today one of the most appreciated regions in Europe for its quality of life, Mediterranean cuisine, and diverse landscapes.

Travel

Reaching Lecce is simple and convenient. The city is served by Brindisi – Salento Airport (about 40 km away), with both national and international flights. From the airport, Lecce can be reached by shuttle bus, taxi, or rental car. Alternatively, Bari Airport (about 160 km away) offers further international connections. Lecce is also accessible by train from Rome, Milan, and other major Italian cities. For those traveling by car, the motorway and highway network provides easy access to the Salento capital.
